I was until recently addicted to World news. I would listen on the radio on the way to work. I would visit news websites at lunchtime, rush home and switch on the TV to watch the news.
It was not until someone pointed out the negativity of it all that I realised that my addiction was making me ill. I ranted and raved about the 'wrongs' in the world and how someone should do something about them.
So what did I do. I still read the news, but I filter out all the bad stuff and let the world get on with it's business.
I no longer visit global news websites. I found an uplifting news site instead. www.goodnewsnetwork.org.
I get my news shot everyday, but it lifts me up instead of depressing me.
If I do receive bad news, I no longer gripe about it, I do what I can to make it better. If I can't I simply let it happen & let it go.

It's really clear to me that when I was holding on to stuff that I thought was important I didn't succeed. And at the top of that list was my list of things that made me feel secure.
And one day all of it went out the window. And then the most amazing thing happened. This is truly the most amazing thing.
First of all I just said good-bye to it all and relaxed. And then the next day I met my future wife.
And the rest is history as they say. I talk about it some in my blog.
It seems like a miracle.
