Jeremy – I couldn’t agree with you more! I read it for my Introduction to Ethics philosophy class my freshman year of college, and I was blown away by how awesome it was.

Oh, and drivel is an understatement. Sigh, yet another area of the schooling system that needs to be improved upon.

Hi Rahul,

Glad to see you added Plato’s Republic. I think if more people read the classics we would all be better off. I truly believe in having the classics read in public education. Sadly we oftentimes give students modern day drivel to read.

@ Joe – Thanks for the recommendation! I added it to my wish list. Hopefully will be getting it soon.

@ Ignacio – Great question. My freshman year of business school (towards the end of the first semester), I became really interested in investing. I started searching for the best books on the subject, and the few I’ve listed were some of the ones I came across and read. They’re all great.

The transition from my interest in investing to my interest in spirituality was a night and day shift, as you said. I no longer dabble in investments, but in time I know I’ll get involved again. And hey, just because you’re a zoologist doesn’t mean you can’t know something other than the tendencies of a rare species of monkey from the Amazon

Great books. Reminds me of my reading when I had time ha. How did you chance upon financial books (I know you were a business student) to that extent and how do you feel that meshes with your spirituality.

I feel that both are interesting but I am interested in your transition from one to the other. It seems night and day to me! Then again, I am a zoologist so I may not have the best knowledge!

@ Arswino – awesome suggestions. I’ve only heard of the “Cash Flow Quadrant” and “The 8th Habit”. I’ll definitely check out the other books on your list!

@ Ian – I just ordered Man’s Search for Meaning. I’m looking forward to it. And wow, I haven’t heard of any of the other books on your list. I’ll check them out on Amazon and add them to my wish list!
